Riffat’s techniques and understanding of global beauty means she is able to take the canvas of any woman’s face and create a bespoke look just for her. One of the themes that most commonly crops up from brides is the request to look like a Bollywood star. Riffat enthuses: ‘Women want feel like screen goddesses. When characters in Indian movies get married their weddings are full of fanfayre and the bride always looks incredible; it’s that look that I try and capture.’  

 

For this timeless traditional bride Riffat creating a clean and crisp complexion. First she applied MAC Strobe liquid foundation to radiate a fresh face. Next Kryolan base was smoothed on and set with Studio Fix powder to add radiance. A bold pink toned blusher adds a flush of colour to the cheeks. Eyes are all important and Riffat’s signature techniques for bold, black lined eyes are reminiscent of the golden age Bollywood A’listers who knew how to vamp it up with the use of strong lines and graphic shapes. While long luscious lashes are guaranteed to make your eyes flutter, combining colour into the brows injects drama. For lips Riffat has accentuated the richness of the overall look by creating full lips using a MAC liner and lipstick. 

 

For their main wedding day many brides opt for hair up, which although looks amazing, doesn’t celebrate the beauty of having naturally long hair. To show off the bride’s locks, Riffat completed this Maharani bridal look by sweeping hair up, off the face then creating a sophistcated, stylish side plait.
